Μετά τις τεράστιες κινητοποιήσεις της Κυριακής, ένα 24ωρο μετά τη φρικτή ανακάλυψη των σορών των 6 ομήρων, σήμερα, είναι από το πρωί σε εξέλιξη γενική απεργία, που παραλύει το Ισραήλ.
Όπως μεταδίδουν τα ισραηλινά Μέσα, από πολύ νωρίς το πρωί, εκατοντάδες διαδηλωτές, κρατώντας σημαίες και πανό που γράφουν «γιατί είναι ακόμα στη Γάζα», συγκεντρώθηκαν και απέκλεισαν την οδό Ibn Gvirol στο Τελ Αβίβ, απαιτώντας από την κυβέρνηση να καταλήξει σε συμφωνία για την απελευθέρωση των ομήρων που κρατούνται από τη Χαμάς στη Λωρίδα της Γάζας.

Διαδηλωτές συγκεντρώνονται, επίσης, στη διασταύρωση Shilat κοντά στο Modiin και αποκλείουν τον δρόμο που οδηγεί στη βόρεια πόλη Rosh Pina.

Οι διαδηλώσεις αυτές αποτελούν την έναρξη της σημερινής γενικής απεργίας, την οποία ανακοίνωσε χθες η Εργατική Ομοσπονδία Histadrut, για να πιέσει την κυβέρνηση Νετανιάχου να κάνει περισσότερα για την επίτευξη συμφωνίας εκεχειρίας με τη Χαμάς, με σύνθημα «Ενάντια στην κυβέρνηση του θανάτου».

Η απεργία, σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις του επικεφαλής της Ομοσπονδίας, Arnon Bar-David θα ληξει στις 6 το απόγευμα.
Σκηνές χάους παρατηρούνται στο αεροδρόμιο Μπεν Γκουριόν στο Τελ Αβίβ, όπου από τις 8 το πρωί και έως τις 10 δεν πετούσαν αεροπλάνα, παρά τις έντονες πιέσεις της κυβέρνησης να συνεχιστεί η λειτουργία του.

Τα αεροπλάνα παρέμειναν καθηλωμένα μέχρι τις 10.30, ενώ μέχρι τώρα έχει επιτραπει η απογείωση μόλις 7 πτήσεων
Αξιωματούχος της εργατικής ομοσπονδίας Histadrut δηλώνει στο Κανάλι 12 ότι η οργάνωση εξετάζει το ενδεχόμενο να παρατείνει τη γενική απεργία μέχρι αύριο.
Σήμερα, πάντως απεργούν ιδιωτικές επιχειρήσεις, τράπεζες, εργαζόμενοι σε υπουργεία, ενώ τα σχολεία θα παραμείνουν κλειστά για αρκετές ώρες. Τα νοσοκομεία θα λειτουργούν με μειωμένο προσωπικό.
Πάντως, ο υπουργός Οικονομικών του Ισραήλ Bezalel Smotrich δήλωσε ότι ζήτησε από το υπουργείο Οικονομικών να μην πληρώσει κανέναν εργαζόμενο που συμμετέχει στην απεργία.
