Cyprus is expected to have a strong entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will take place next May in Switzerland.
Specifically, iEidiseis understands that the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC/RIK) seem to have come up with not only the artist but the song as well that will represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The chosen artist is a young man of Cypriot origin with very good musical studies even abroad. Besides that, CyBC had hinted that they wanted an artist of a Cypriot origin. So, Cyprus is expected to be represented at the highest level at Eurovision Song Contest 2025 through a quite ambitious and special project.
The first official announcement from CyBC about Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will only reveal the name of the chosen artist, is going to be made extremely soon, certainly from September, 1st onwards. It is noted that from September, 1st 2024 onwards, any song released that is no longer than three minutes, can be selected for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Cyprus was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which took place in Malmö, Sweden, by Silia Kapsis and the song “Liar”. In the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which took place on May, 11th, Cyprus ended in the 15th place with 78 points.
